Delambre

Country of Origin: La Bucca (for the time being, this is a secret “signature” fighting style taught to the crew of the Glory; only a member of the Brotherhood of the Coast who has spent at least six months sailing aboard the ship may purchase the school, at a cost of 25 HP)

Founded: 1668

Description: A

Basic Curriculum:  Fencing, Firearms

Swordsman Knacks: Bind (Fencing), Corps-á-Corps, Exploit Weakness (Delambre), Pommel Strike (Firearm)

Apprentice: A student of Delambre is trained to wield a cutlass and a pistol simultaneously, and suffers no penalty when wielding a pistol in his off-hand. Moreover, the pistols favored by Delambre swordsmen are reinforced for use as melee weapons once they have been fired. The Apprentice receives a free Raise when using either the Pommel Strike Knack with his pistol.

Delambre has not been sanctioned by the Swordsman’s Guild, and its reliance on firearms suggests that it never will be.  Consequently, Apprentices receive a free Rank in one of their Swordsman Knacks in lieu of Guild membership.

Journeyman:

Master: A Master of Delambre is a fierce and terrifying force once he closes with an opponent, who seldom walks away to tell the tale. After successfully binding an opponent’s weapon with his sword, the Master may immediately spend another Action Die (even one from later in the Round) to bury an off-hand pistol into the opponent’s midsection and fire.  The Master makes a standard Attack (Firearms) roll, and if the opponent suffers a Dramatic Wound as a result, he takes an additional Dramatic Wound for every five points he fails the roll by, as if he had been damaged by a cannon.  The Master may only perform this maneuver if he has a loaded pistol in hand when he initiates the Bind.
